1 Star I was waiting 2 laugh
Bad, just plain bad, I did not even laugh once. The first flick Waiting was very good, funny & witty even though it had no plot it worked very well with the funny bone. The original actors in Waiting had the chemistry to play off of one another & delivered the laughs. Still Waiting just was plain flat & boring. Even with some of the original cast members that were in Still Waiting, they did not strike any chemistry with its fellow actors. It would have been nice to continue the original cast at Shenaniganz instead of at the Ta Ta’s restaurant. I could think of a million other shenaniganz the original cast could have dipped into instead of this bad attempt of a sequel. Nice try but 2 bloody thumbs down. 1 Star Disturbingly racist and vulgar
Anyone who has commented that this movie is even remotely as good as the original movie Waiting is either lying or out of their mind. This movie was completely terrible in every way a movie can be terrible. Also, there are many moments where characters are unbelievably racist but you are supposed to let it slide because the character is “just kidding” and ambiguously learns a lesson at the end. There is an inexcusable re-occurring joke that waiters get upset because black people are seated in their section.
Besides racism the movie is permeated with completely vulgar moments for the sake of vulgarity without any humor. Lastly, fans of the original Waiting will recognize the writer of both films as a formerly pathetic waiter now turned Ta-Tas (Hooters) restaurant manager. His role as a ladies man is about as believable as Billy Crystal in the role of The Terminator. This movie is absolutely nothing but a cash in on the popularity of the original film with nothing new to offer, nothing gained from watching, and I can’t recommend ignoring this release enough.
4 Stars a worthy sequel
this was a bit different than Waiting, but still a really good movie. i don’t know why some people are giving it only 1 star. sure, Ryan Reynolds and Anna Farris aren’t in the movie, but Still Waiting is most definitely on par with the original.
a solid comedy.

3 Stars Good effort
First thing out I want to say this is much better than other direct to DVD sequels. Sure the “big names” weren’t here but why would they be? In the storyline two years have passed and it’s not unrealistic in two years time to have people move on or change roles in a work environment. How many direct to DVD sequels get as many of the orginal cast to return as this did? I actually can’t think of any. Alanna Ubach once again brings big laughs as Naomi. If you liked the first (and like plenty of T & A) check this out. Worth it just to see what happned with the returning cast.
5 Stars Still Waiting Rocks! Really!!
Just watch it! It is so much fun. It flows joke after joke. Not all the drama like the first Waiting, I love this movie. I am a waiter, and this movie is closer to the truth.

Rich and Famous

Liz and Merry Noel become friends as college roommates and their friendship endures over the years. Liz becomes a respected novelist. Merry Noel marries, has a daughter and writes, too: so-called trash fiction that becomes enormously successful. Their story begins in college and jumps ahead some years at a time to show their relationship with each other and those in their orbits as they grow and mature.

2 Stars Dreary Sudser
What a tedious exercise this flick is. The decades long friendship between a writer of highbrow elitist woman’s fiction(Jacqueline Bisset) and one of lowbrow pop romances (Candice Bergen) is not only uninteresting it’s unbelievable. Bisset makes her character palatable but the makers of this dreck villify Bergen’s character making her an unbearably shrill shrew. A more accomplished actress could have engendered sympathy for their character but marginally talented actress like Bergen is not up to the task. “Rich and Famous” commits the cardinal sin of not being quite bad enough but only being mediocre.
5 Stars Cherchez la Femme
My opinion of films (other than horror or sci-fi category) is worthless since based upon the category of the hottie involved (and whether I would like to record or obtain for subsequent viewing). This film has a Category A HR (Hottie Rating). (Note: Provided the A rated hottie is not motioinless throughout, the film may otherwise be a complete “dog”.)
5 Stars Rich and Famous
This movie is an old favorite and depicts the enduring friendship between two women whose lives have diverged over the years, but who find that their bond transcends all their differences.
4 Stars Almost uncut
As a previous posting revealed, the opening scene is cut by a few seconds when Bergen & Bisset climb the stairs to the train platform. Why? A few words of dialogue that helped build the background of the story were therefore lost. Unless the master was damaged in that spot, Warner have no excuse for editing this film on DVD. Aside from that, it is a great DVD and the parts that many people, myself included, were worried may be cut are not. The two extras are nice, and if it wasn’t for that stupid little edit by Warner, I would rate it 5 stars.
4 Stars Bisset and Bergen shine in sassy remake of “Old Acquaintance”
Legendary director George Cukor’s final movie was a sassy and thought-provoking remake of “Old Acquaintance”, based on the play by John Van Druten.
Old schoolfriends Liz Hamilton (Jacqueline Bisset) and Merry Noel-Blake (Candice Bergen) vow that whatever directions their lives take, firm friendship will hold them together. That sisterhood is pushed to it’s limits when Los Angeles housewife Merry hits bestseller paydirt with her steamy romance novels; whilst Liz strives for literary greatness without the glory.
This 1980s update on the 1943 classic “Old Acquaintance” (which memorably starred Bette Davis and Miriam Hopkins) succeeds largely due to the inspired performances of Ms Bisset and Ms Bergen. Both imbue their roles with lots of underlying pathos and depth. George Cukor shocked his contemporaries by including a very raunchy sex scene with Bisset and the much younger Matt Lattanzi. On viewing the film for the first time, Cukor’s close friend Katharine Hepburn was quoted as saying “You’ve made some sexy movie!”.
RICH AND FAMOUS co-stars Hart Bochner, David Selby, Nicole Eggert and also boasts the film debut of Meg Ryan. Watch out for some cameo appearances from the likes of Roger Vadim, Nina Foch, Ray Bradbury, Fay Kanin, Paul Morrissey and Christopher Isherwood.
The complete uncut 117 minute version of RICH AND FAMOUS is the one that’s featured on this DVD. Extra features are limited to the vintage featurette “On Location with Rich & Famous”, and the theatrical trailer. Highly-recommended.
